Patrizia Piacentini has been Professor of Egyptology and Egyptian Archeology at the University of Milan since 1993, where she is also scientific director of the Egyptological Library and Archives and coordinator of the PhD Program in Cultural Heritage Sciences. Since 2017, she is the Co-Director of the Egyptian-Italian Mission at West Aswan which excavates and studies a large necropolis that covers over a thousand years of history. She is a member of Scientific or Presidency Committees of numerous Egyptological Associations and Foundations, and representative for Italy of the International Association of Egyptologists. Author of numerous monographs and scientific articles, she has organized exhibitions on Ancient Egypt in various countries of the world and numerous congresses. She is the founder and director of the journal EDAL, Egyptian and Egyptological Documents Archives Libraries (Milan) and is a member of the scientific or editorial board of numerous journals, including Aegyptus (Milan)
