Editorial Policy
Since 2005, Archeologia e Calcolatori has supported the Open Access Initiative. An electronic version (e-ISSN 2385-1953) of the journal is published under the Creative Commons License CC BY-NC-ND 3.0, simultaneously with the hard-copy publication (ISSN 1120-6861). Articles are also stored in the CNR SOLAR (Scientific Open-access Literature Archive and Repository) database of scientific publications. All parties involved in the publishing process should agree upon the Publication Ethics Statement.
Open Access Policy
In accordance with the BOAI definition of open access and the terms of the CC Licence, users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles for any non-commercial purpose, as long as the original authors and the source are cited.
Article Processing and Submission Charges
Archeologia e Calcolatori has no article processing and submission charges. The published articles can be downloaded freely.
Guidelines for Authors
Peer Review Process
Contributions to Archeologia e Calcolatori are assessed and approved by specialist members of the Scientific Committee and the Editorial Board, as well as by the members of Conference Scientific/Organising Committees and by expert readers, according to a double-blind peer review process.
Editorial Rules
- Papers should be submitted in French, English, German, Italian or Spanish (.rtf or .doc formats), max 6000 words, including references, figure captions, Author's names and contact details.
- Texts should be submitted by email (redazioneAC@isma.cnr.it) before December 31st.
- b/w and colour figures (maximum 10), with captions, should be sent separately from the text (.jpg or .tiff formats, 300 dpi). Figure numbers should correspond to the figure references in the text.
- An abstract in English (about 300 words) should accompany the text.
- Bibliographic references in the text should follow the Harvard system of referencing (Author's name, year of publication, pages; if there are more than 3 Authors, please use the name of the first Author followed by et al.) and be presented at the end of the paper as follows (please avoid footnotes and integrate the text in the main structure of the paper):

- Use standard abbreviations for metric units (km, kg, m, etc.) without final full stops. Square metres should be expressed as m². Cardinal points should be indicated by capital letters without full points (N, S, E, and O/W). Use italics for foreign words or phrases, except for those which are in common use and therefore familiar.
- Technical characteristics of the printed volume: page size 17×24 cm; text size 12,6×17,7 cm.
- Illustrations: Authors must obtain permission to publish illustrations taken from a copyrighted source. The figure caption should include the appropriate credit information.
- Proofs: Authors can make corrections only on the first proofs. The Editors reserve the right to make further editorial changes to adjust style to certain standards of uniformity.

Except where otherwise noted, content on this site is licensed under a CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 Licence. Articles published in Archeologia e Calcolatori, from issue 9 (1998) onwards, are Open Access. For the preceding issues, descriptive metadata and abstracts can be downloaded. Content may be used only under the terms of the CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 Licence. Since 2000, articles are also stored in the CNR SOLAR (Scientific Open-access Literature Archive and Repository) database. The opinions stated in the articles do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the management or editorial staff of the Journal.
